“PWF Naturalist Program on Ulua Beach in Maui”photo

Maui is ringed with beautiful beaches like Ulua Beach at the edge of Wailea Elua Village, but beyond the shoreline lies an underwater paradise that offers visitors another dimension to their Hawaiian vacation. Embark on an “ed”-venture with Pacific Whale Foundation's Naturalist program and learn about the living reef and all its colorful fish and Hawaiian sea turtles without ever setting foot on a boat.

The Coral Reef Information Station on Ulua Beach is set up where the reef runs perpendicular to the shoreline, from 9:00am-12:00pm Sundays through Thursdays. The calm morning waters provide the perfect setting for all skill levels to explore this underwater paradise and the on-hand naturalist is there to answer all your questions. Books and fish ID materials are on-hand for your reference as well as free applications of reef-safe sunscreen. Pick up an underwater camera and bring home some truly unique vacation pictures!
