"With the magnificent Pacific views and elegant Maui condos along the beach, our stay here was magical."
“Hau’oli Makahiki Hou – Happy New Year, Hawaiian Style”
New Year’s Eve in Maui is a melting pot of traditions, typically shared with family, friends, food, fun and fireworks! Family and friends visiting throughout the night laden tables with a potluck feast that ranges from Japanese sashimi and sushi, Filipino pancit noodles and lumpia spring rolls, Portuguese Bean Soup, Hawaiian laulau and kalua pig and much, much more!
From our Chinese friends, we have the tradition of lighting novelty fireworks culminating with the big bang at midnight – everyone throughout neighborhoods islandwide popping a long strings of firecrackers to ward off evil spirits – in unspoken unision – you just know, it’s tradition.
