Both have parallel holes, but the thick brush of wili wili trees and other indigenous plants shield the fairways, creating privacy and isolation.

Makena South Course

This 6,630-yard, par-72 Robert Trent Jones Jr. Maui golf course features natural rolling fairways, undulating greens, and captivating ocean and mountain views. Maui's newest resort course and considered by some to be the most fun of the two Makena Golf Courses, Makena South has received a 4.5-star rating from Golf Digest.

Makena North Course

Climbing away from the coast, up through thickets of wili wili and kiawe trees, across ravines and streambeds, and past ancient lava rock formations, the Makena North Course feels more like a nature walk than a golf course. This 6,567-yard, par-72 Robert Trent Jones Jr. Hawaii golf course features breathtaking mountain views of Haleakala crater and includes natural obstacles that add to the challenge. Golf Digest gives the Makena North Course a 4-star rating.
